Is Helena Bonham Carter a style icon or fashion disaster? Helena Bonham Carter is my fashion icon.  No, not because I necessarily like her sense of style, and it does not matter what I think.  I like her because not only she has the guts to ignore all those so-called rules of fashion from so-called style experts and fashionistas.When those self-anointed fashion police force members chided her for wearing mismatched shoes, I loved her response: “Who says we can’t? I was just having fun. Sometimes I get it right and I sometimes I get it wrong, but fashion is all about having fun. I think fashion has been hijacked by the fashion industry creating rules on what one should wear and I feel like breaking the mold and seeing that the world won’t crumble…Maybe I will wear the exact same dress I wore at the Golden Globes (to the Oscars) but with matching shoes. Or put the shoes on my head!”
